Traditional Auto Body has been repairing cars to original conditions for 33 years

Since 1987, Traditional Auto Body & Painting in West Salem has been repairing cars to their original conditions, whether their damage was caused by an accident or an errant shopping cart in a parking lot.

Those decades of experience have caused customers to recognize the shop and award it top honors in the Best of the Willamette Valley contest.

Traditional Auto Body & Painting has won Gold in the Best Auto Body Repair category by delivering memorable customer service as well as superior quality work.

“We are humbled to receive this recognition,” said Robert Tarter, owner of Traditional Auto Body & Painting. “We strive to deliver cars that look like they did they day they rolled off the assembly line. It’s this combination of superior work and unforgettable customer care that motivates our customers to honor us this way.”

“It is not easy becoming unique in the auto body business”, Tarter said. There are many competitors in the area who offer good service on a regular basis.

“But we have carved out a niche, and we fill it with dependable customer service and complete car and truck repair. It has helped us stand out among customers. We appreciate the vote of confidence.

"Much of our business is referral by satisfied customers; that means a great deal to us. Even when customers' insurance companies suggest a body shop, customers can request Traditional Auto Body & Painting. That's the ultimate referral."

Traditional Auto Body & Painting specializes in collision repair and restoring vehicles to their original factory appearance. They are also well known for their paint less dent repair system, which helps customers save money.

The shop uses top technology to bring vehicles back to their assembly line condition. This includes a computerized frame system for collision repair as well as state of the art color matching software. Traditional Auto Body & Painting offers deductible assistance and financing, working directly with Heritage Grove Credit Union.

Traditional Auto Body & Painting works with all insurance companies, and even offers a lifetime warranty on all its repairs.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Traditional Auto Body & Painting has instituted new measures to protect its employees, their families, and customers.

All vehicles will be cleaned normally (washed and vacuumed), but in addition, they will be wiped down twice with Oxivir, a disinfectant solution with little odor. The shop has also added a covered drive-thru estimating area where customers can remain in their vehicles and have their estimates mailed to them or their insurance company without ever leaving their vehicle.
